This policy clarifies the company's position regarding lost or stolen personal property on company premises or during Madison Heights events.

Policy Statement:

Madison Heights is not responsible for any personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged on company premises, including but not limited to offices, parking lots, meeting rooms, or during Madison Heights events, regardless of the cause. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Wallets, purses, and handbags
  • Mobile phones, tablets, and laptops
  • Jewelry and watches
  • Keys
  • Clothing and accessories
  • Personal vehicles and their contents
  • Any other personal items brought onto company property or to company events.

Rationale:

Madison Heights takes reasonable measures to provide a safe and secure environment. However, we cannot guarantee the security of personal belongings. Individuals are responsible for safeguarding their own property.

Recommendations:

  • Do not leave personal belongings unattended.
  • Keep valuables out of sight.
  • Record serial numbers of valuable electronic devices.
  • Consider purchasing personal property insurance.
  • If you see suspicious activity, report it to security or management immediately.
  • Do not bring unnecessary valuables to the workplace.

Reporting Lost or Stolen Property:

While Madison Heights is not responsible for lost or stolen property, we encourage individuals to report any incidents to staff for documentation purposes. This information may be helpful in identifying patterns or taking preventative measures. Reporting a theft to the police is the responsibilty of the owner of the stolen property.

Exceptions:

This policy does not apply to company-issued equipment or property.
